We stayed for 3 weeks at various properties in Iceland, and Afternoon Cottages was by far the best. The cozy and clean cottage was equipped with everything we needed, and its great location near Landmannalaugar and the ferry to Westman Islands was a bonus. Elvar, the host, provided exceptional customer service from before our arrival to our entire stay. The peacefulness of the cottages was amazing, and even though we couldn't see the aurora in the summer, we could imagine how magical it would be in the winter. these cottages exceeded our expectations and were the most modern and well-equipped among all the places we stayed.
Can recommend this hotel.

Located in the heart of Iceland, this guest house offers a tranquil retreat just 30 minutes away from amenities. the well-appointed cottages provide a cozy and comfortable experience, with the convenience of a fully equipped kitchen and a microwave for reheating meals. the hosts' excellent communication ensures a smooth stay, and the complimentary Netflix subscription adds a nice touch. the curtains provide darkness during the midnight sun, and the shower is great. the proximity to amazing waterfalls and sites makes it an ideal location.
The brightness of the summer sun may make it challenging to sleep, as the current blinds do not block out enough light.

The decoration of the hotel was absolutely charming, with cozy and inviting spaces that made me feel right at home. The general areas were well-maintained and had a lovely atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. As a senior woman, I appreciated the hotel's accessibility, with easy navigation and comfortable amenities that catered to my needs.
I would have asked for better support from the children working there in terms of mosquito prevention. A net on the windows would have been helpful to ensure a pleasant stay for senior guests and avoid any discomfort caused by mosquito bites.

The cottage we stayed at during our city break was cozy, clean, and comfortable. It was equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a well-stocked kitchen and good wifi connectivity. The location was also a major advantage, as it was conveniently close to popular tourist spots like Landmannalaugar and the ferry to the Westman Islands.
Getting to the cottage was a major challenge for us. The gravel road leading to the property was in poor condition, making it difficult to navigate, especially in our small rented car.

I had a wonderful stay at this cozy cottage. The location was perfect, with easy access to popular attractions like Landmannalaugar and Hella. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The view from the cottage was stunning, with no light pollution to hinder stargazing or enjoying the Northern Lights. The privacy and quietness of the property made it a truly tranquil retreat.
The road leading to the property was a bit rough and could be challenging to navigate, especially for those with low-clearance vehicles.

We had a fabulous time staying at the cottages. The flat was brand new and had everything we needed, from a connected TV to a well-equipped kitchen. The place was cozy and comfortable, and we loved the peaceful and tranquil location. Despite being a bit isolated, it was worth the drive on the gravel road to reach this hidden gem. The host was also very attentive and made sure we had a smooth check-in process. we highly recommend staying at Afternoon Cottages for a peaceful and comfortable getaway.
The gravel road leading to the cottages, which was a bit challenging to drive on. However, it didn't deter us from enjoying our stay and wouldn't stop us from returning.
